"How Does Your Garden Grow"

First update of our first garden: We have tomatoes! They are little and green but they are on their way. The rest of the plants and even our flowers are growing too. We have been watering every day that it doesn't rain. Hoping Steve doesn't disappoint us while we are at Lake Erie for a week. Can't wait to get to pick and eat something from our garden! Riley is so happy and proud.

The Wedding

My kids, especially Riley, had been looking forward to Rene and Tom's wedding for a long time. The day was both beautiful and fun and enjoyed by all. Congratulations Tom and Rene!

Birthday Girl

Today we celebrated Riley's 3rd birthday.
This Mama is having a hard time believing and accepting that she is three.
Happy Birthday Riley. I love you. Always have. Always will.

The Cake

Riley said she wanted a birthday cake with Strawberry Shortcake on the outside and a rainbow in the inside. I wasn't sure how I was going to manage that but was willing to give it a try. When I saw a picture of this cake online, I knew it was the one. Riley loved helping me make it. It really turned out well. I have a feeling there will be rainbow cakes on many birthdays in our future.

Dragons MVP

In April, Trent was chosen as MVP of his class. He received four lawn tickets to a Dragons game (which turned into four tickets to two games due to a storm moving in during the first game)and the opportunity to go to MVP day at Fifth Third Field. MVP day was today, and Trent really enjoyed himself.

He liked...

Meeting the mascots and the players:

Running the bases:

Playing the games:

And getting autographs signed.

Especially by one special batting coach-Ken Griffey Sr.

We are very proud of this MVP!

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game..."

After several days of rain/storms, a 1 1/2 hour rain delay the previous evening, and the threat of more, I was worried that our night at the Dragons game may be ruined. We went anyway and were so glad we did. It was a perfect night at the ball field. The boys enjoyed seats in the front row. The sun wasn't out, and the air was cool. The only negative part of the whole evening was the final score. The Dragons lost 9 to 3. It didn't dampen our spirits though. I had to drag the boys away at near 10 pm and the top of the ninth inning and remind them that they had one more day of school.
