Love Thy Neighbors

On Saturday, Reed and Riley asked if they could clean up the leaves in the backyard. I didn't expect them to accomplish much but figured they would have some fun for a while, so I gave them some rakes and let them at it. I was busy getting some things done in the house and the others were gone. After a while, I looked out the window and saw Riley throwing big handfuls of leaves across the fence into our neighbors yard. I opened the back door and asked her what she was doing. She said, "I'm cleaning up the leaves in our yard." I couldn't help but laugh. She had quite a few over there by the time she was caught. Steve had to blow them back over to our side of the fence before he really cleaned up the yard on Sunday.

Entertrainment Junction

Friday was WOEA Day. In other words, the kids were out of school. I took off work and took Trent, Reed and Riley to Entertrainment Junction in West Chester. The place is fairly new, so we had not been there before. It was nice to go somewhere different. They had a large model train display, a kids play area, a couple of different train rides, a Halloween area and several fun house type mazes along with some other things. All in all, it was a fun afternoon.

Indian Summer

The last week of weather has been so great. You just can't beat 70s and 80s in October. Knowing Saturday was going to be a nice day, we made plans to spend it all outside. Unfortunately, Steve and Cole had to work for the first part of the day. After early morning swim lessons, I took Trent, Reed and Riley to the Fall Fest at Kings Island. We spent the evening outside too. The kids jumped on the trampoline and played football. We built a fire and made a late dinner of hot dogs and marshmallows. A game of Ghost in the Graveyard was a great way to end the night.

(Well, actually, I ended the night by watching the Buckeyes lose after being ahead by 21 points, but I am trying really hard to forget that!)
