He calls this "His Grandma Pose"

Jesus is more magic than Santa Claus

A story I don't want to forget. We all went to church on Christmas Eve. We had to get there much earlier than usual to be sure we got a seat. Riley was sitting on my lap talking while we were waiting for mass to start. She asked about Jesus on the cross. I told her that Jesus died on the cross but then he came back to life and rose to Heaven. Riley's eyes got big and she said, "Wow! Jesus is more magic than Santa Claus!". Yes he is Riley. Yes he is.

New PJs

I know you can't believe I showed up on my own blog right? That is the problem, the photographer rarely makes it into the pictures. Now that I am here, I will give you one guess who picked out my new pajamas.

Christmas Morning

So many gifts, so little time. I will let the pictures tell the story of our Christmas morning. Needless to say, Santa did good. Cole's highlights included his electronic drum set, a desk for his bedroom and tickets to a Rush concert over Spring Break. Among other things, Trent received UD room decorations and an electric guitar. Reed listed his number one gift as his drum set. Santa brought Reed many Toy Story 3 toys as well. Riley loved her doll house, Strawberry Shortcake Cafe and Rapunzel set. The boys were also thrilled to receive Kinect for their XBox 360. All their excitement made their 4:45 a.m. wake up time not seem quite so bad. Every Christmas morning I am reminded that it is true what they say, it is better to give than receive. I love watching my kids be surprised and knowing Santa got it just right!

Little Drummer Boy

Cole has been taking drum lessons for a couple of months now. Ever since he started, Reed too has grown more and more interested in drums. In November, Reed started saying that he wanted drums for Christmas. Steve and I told him he was too young and encouraged him to ask Santa for an electronic drum pad instead. In mid-December, we went to see Santa at the mall. Santa asked Reed what he wanted for Christmas. Before answering, Reed turned to me with a big smile on his face. He then looked at Santa and said, "I want a drum set." Santa said, "High five on that one", and gave Reed a high five. As soon as he got off Santa's lap, Reed came over and said, "I told you Santa would bring me drums for Christmas". He was right. Santa delivered as promised. Santa is now on my Naughty List. The least he could have done was bring me some ear plugs!
